Three Things You Must Do In England

As we continue #Eurovember, we’re going to take a look at one of our favorite spots to study abroad: England! There’s so much to do throughout this awesome country and even with a full semester of studying abroad, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to do everything you want to in the time you have. With that being said, we’re going to share the three things you MUST do before you head back to the States.

· Visit the Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace, the official residence and headquarters of the monarch, is a site to behold in the middle of London. Tours inside the building are offered each day and seeing the Changing of the Guard is something you won’t forget. The 45-minute ceremony is at 11 a.m. every morning and features a different musical performance each day.

· Go to Stonehenge. Stonehenge is just a 1.5-hour train ride from London and it’s well worth the train ticket to check out this marvel from ancient times. There’s plenty of theories about how, or why, these stones ended up where they are, but learning about the history of the monuments is something unlike anything you can find in the United States.

· Go to a Premier League match. If you think that an American football or baseball game is something special, just wait until you see a Premier League soccer match. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and the Premier League is the top division of soccer in England. It’s also the most popular soccer league in the world. The best part about the Premier League is that the matches aren’t just in the big cities like London or Manchester. The 20 teams in the league are from all over the country. When you do go to a game, be ready to cheer for all 90 minutes. And be prepared to sing as well!
