The deadline to study abroad for summer 2020 is fast approaching. If you have not already applied you can do so at https://global.okstate.edu/studyabroad/.
With the deadline near, many students have already applied and planning their educational adventure. However, there are still a few steps to consider:
Scholarships: Why pay more when money is still on the table! First remember to be eligible for financial aid, students need to enroll in courses that will apply towards their major requirements at OSU, regardless of the study abroad program. Now that you have that out of the way check out these Oklahoma State Scholarships:
Oklahoma State:
1.) Provost Scholarship - Deadline March 1st
2.) Provost's and Humphreys' Study Abroad Scholarships - Deadline March 1st
3.) Don and Cathey Humphreys Long-term Travel Grants - Deadline March 1st
External:
1.) Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship -Deadline "Early March"
2.) Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants - Deadline March 15th
You have been accepted and you have funding...what's next!??? Prepare for departure. You can find all the departure steps listed at https://global.okstate.edu/studyabroad/follow_the_steps/preparing_for_departure.html. However, to share a few key highlights:
1.) Passport: This can take a few weeks. Do not procrastinate!
2.) Have you applied for your host university (IF NEEDED)
3.) Verify that you are enrolled in temporary placeholder hours at Oklahoma State
4.) Last but not least...Research the host culture!
