Travel with Ethics (Please!)

So often tourists abandon their sense of selves when they leave the country. They bring their phone, their camera, their optimistic attitude and leave behind their ethics and morals. We are going to discuss a few must don'ts:

#1.) Do not take a picture of the locals. Yes you are a tourists and perhaps you are traveling for the sake of people watching, but you are NOT National Geographic and it is rude to take pictures of people without their consent. Would you want a stranger taking a picture of you while you are shopping or tending to your lawn? NO! It is creepy both within and outside of the United States.

#2.) Luggage: Perhaps you have never traveled, or maybe you had an experience similar to Gaylord Focker in the movie "Meet the Parents", but do not try to carry on your full size suitcase. The flight attendants will thank you and the passengers will thank you.

#3.) Personal Space: Different cultures have different personal space. Some cultures talk very close while others like to maintain a certain distance. Study the norms of the area you will be visiting so that you don't mess up someones personal space.

#4.) Take a picture and move on. Yes, whatever it is, it's beautiful and that is why you are not the only one here to take a picture of it. Get your picture and move on so that others can too get their picture and move on (please and thank you).

#5.) Selfies....do I need to explain?
